Regular meetings with a supervisor approved by the Department of Media and Communications Honours Coordinator will guide their progress. Students are required to complete 48 points of study comprising a thesis and two coursework units. Bachelor of Communication (Honours) The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) course prepares graduates for completion of a research based honours thesis and to enter their professional fields or a research higher degree course with the in-depth knowledge provided by a research based degree. One of the key projects of CNM students is the honours thesis where students develop their own research questions, conduct independent fieldwork and analyse their data under close guidance from their supervisors. In addition it should also identify the supervisor, and contain the following statement: 'A dissertation presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of Bachelor of (either) Arts, Communication or Journalism with Honours.' Two copies of the thesis must be submitted, both of which will be returned after it has been marked.
